Actors! Thank you for coming out the 2016 TRU Audition! We hope you found the event fun and successful. This webpage will be the home for all the information regarding what auditors were at the 2016 TRU Audition Event and when. We are still working on gathering information from the auditors, so the page will be updated as information comes in. We will probably be updating this for the next two weeks, because it is difficult to get current information.

The Meta Theatre Company

- Mission: The Meta Theatre Company is a social justice theatre company that creates original work about white privilege, race, class, gender and sexual orientation. Since 2015, MTC has developed a weekly theatre program at The Edna Mahan Women's Correctional Facility in Clinton, NJ to use theatre as a way to stop mass incarceration. MTC performs the work of the women inmates in the general public, and includes post-show discussions to create action plans for change. Projects co-written with the women of Edna Mahan are, "Hello My Name Is" and "RISE! Cabaret".
- Casting Needs: Currently casting : "Hello My Name Is . . . " a play co-written with the women inmates of The Edna Mahan Correctional Facility. This play tells the story of the Ramirez de Paloma family, who move to the United States from Puerto Rico in search of The American Dream. The play shows the impact that the education and criminal justice system has on the family, and highlights the two sisters, Luz and Sandra. Both grew up in the same family, but each sister has different outcomes to their life. MTC is also casting for RISE! Cabaret. This interactive Cabaret uses original sketches, songs and improv to interact with the audience around social justice issues.

Write Act Rep also produces rarely seen works. Along with our repertory season, Write Act Rep enriches the lives of the multi-cultural community through our outreach programs with several other non-profit organizations, theatrical or academic, creating a positive educational and artistic impact within the community. Currently, one of Write Act Rep's outlets provides members the opportunity to produce and create original scripts developed and premiered exclusively with our resident professional artists. The Meta Theatre Company

Since 2015, MTC has developed a weekly theatre program at The Edna Mahan Women's Correctional Facility in Clinton, NJ to use theatre as a way to stop mass incarceration. MTC performs the work of the women inmates in the general public, and includes post-show discussions to create action plans for change. Projects co-written with the women of Edna Mahan are, "Hello My Name Is" and "RISE! Cabaret".
