is a Houston, Texas-based playwright. She has written over 40 plays in a diversity of genres, including Camp Logan,  Greenwood: An American Dream Destroyed, Reunion in Bartersville, Once in a Wife Time,  Over Forty, Black Spurs, Praise the Lord and Raise the Roof, Distant Voices, Brothers, Sisters, Husbands and Wives, More Than Christmas, and many others. Walker has received numerous accolades, including the League of Professional Women’s Lucille Lortel Award, a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship in drama and performance art, the International Black Theatre Festival’s August Wilson Playwright Award, the Beverly Hills NAACP Theatre Award, the AUDELCO Award, a BOLD commission, recognition as a finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, and inclusion in the Wm Inge New Play Lab, and Samuel French OOB Festival, among others.
